BE BOLD: A Success Story with the team from BRAZEN HUSSIES

Nov 12, 2020 12:30 PM AEDT (Melbourne/Sydney)

Releasing a doco in cinemas is tough enough under normal circumstances. But during Covid, with exhibitors and distributors struggling to keep their doors open, it’s a downright brazen act, but one embraced by cinemas all around Australia.

Distributed by Film Art Media, feature documentary BRAZEN HUSSIES explores a daring and diverse group of Australian women who joined forces to defy the status quo, demand equality and create profound social change.

This panel event brings together the inspirational women behind the film and provides a space to explore the unique collaborative model that is a signature of renowned producer Sue Maslin (THE DRESSMAKER), along with co-producers Philippa Campey (NO TIME FOR QUIET) and Andrea Foxworthy (INDONESIA CALLING), with writer/director Catherine Dwyer who makes her debut with this film.

Like the women in the documentary, this panel promises to be full of raw energy and passion and a testament to what women can achieve when they work together.

“It is important to me that the Women’s Movement is remembered and not forgotten, that people understand change isn’t inevitable, that it’s fought for. Things don’t just get better.”
– Catherine Dwyer | Director.
